A Few Nice Domains Dropping

By - January 27, 2010 - 2 Comments
There are so many good names out there right now.  All it takes is time to monetize them.  They are some cheap prices, high search, high CPC out there ripe for the picking.  I couldn't name them all so you're either going to have to find them yourself or go to DomainStryker.com, who supplies me with the tools to find the names. Priyanka.com An Indian name but most likely best known for being a former Miss World and hottie named Priyanka Chopra.  6700 searches and bound to get good traffic with content BenchGrinder.net 8600 Searches.  I found this one especially for Ron (if you're reading) G... A Quick Look At My “Value Picks” for the DomainFest Auction

By - January 26, 2010 - 0 Comments
There are plenty of good names but I thought I would share with you a quick look at the names I think have value at their auction reserve ExtraIncome.com Millions of people on the Internet are looking for exactly that.  An incredible affiliate site and I could see this reaching 6 digits. CreditCheck.info Not a big fan of info but this one is perfect.  If Free Credit Report can generate hundreds of millions, someone can certainly make this one cashflow Socializing.com I don't think this social thing is going to catch on but still a nice name for the price.  That was sarcasm for those of you t... Klimt.com: Great Name But Does It Really Need a Press Release

By - January 26, 2010 - 0 Comments
I always scan the PR wire for new information regarding tech or domains and stumbled across a quite unusual press release for the name Klimt.com. A nice name that certainly gets lots of searches for painter Gustaf Klimt. But a press release? I agree that this certainly may attract extra attention to the name but I certainly don't think it's near the top domain in the auction. I can think of 10 names or more that trump this and none of them needed a press release. Maybe it's the crazy reserve price of 250-500K that forced them to try the old fashioned press methods.  Rule #8 Issue a press release.... Read More »

A Few Nice Domains Dropping Today

By - January 26, 2010 - 0 Comments
At TRAFFIC I found out that people actually do use this daily list to find names and actually have picked up a few of the names and flipped them for profit.  If you've actually picked up one of the names send me an email I'd love to hear about the flip.  You can do it in the comments or privately.  I'd also like to thank DomainStryker.com, who supplies me with the tools to find the names. BoobsVideos.com After visiting Vegas I know there are plenty of people looking for this one, 22,000 to be exact.  Worth way more than the present bid. KoiPondFilters.com I may actually bid on this one.  Not ... Read More »

Is DomainSponsor Putting Lipstick on a Pig?

By - January 25, 2010 - 0 Comments
Let me preface this title by saying I have always loved DomainSponsor and in the old days they treated me well, even when I didn't have very many domains.  They were cutting edge.  Then things changed.  Parking died. There was nothing they could do about and by no means do I really mean DomainSponsor is a pig. To react to the changing environment, DomainSponsor has released DS NextGen.  A fancy name for something that will hopefully improve the recent slide of returns on parked domains.  According to their press release, "The system's infrastructure -- including available data, load times,... A Few Lessons Learned From TRAFFIC’s Test Track

By - January 25, 2010 - 1 Comment
There were plenty of great moments over the last four days at TRAFFIC. Many do's and many don'ts, but I think I got more out of TEST TRACK than any of the other sessions. Here are a few ideas and thoughts that I was left with. 1. Public speaking is a practiced talent. It's like cooking. Everyone is capable but some are much better than others. Some of the presenters were so bad (non practiced) that I could barely take it. I felt terrible for them. Even if their idea would have changed the world, nobody could pick up on because the presentation was a nervous wreck. 2. It's all about money.... Read More »

10 Post Conference Observations From a TRAFFIC Newbie

By - January 23, 2010 - 12 Comments
TRAFFIC just wrapped and I'll have to say it was a great end.  I have plenty of stories to tell (and plenty I can't) but will have to say the most fun I've had in years.  Here are 10 things I'll share about the ongoings at TRAFFIC you may not know 1. Chef Patrick cleans up well.  The first time we met he was wearing an airbrushed picture of himself on the front and glasses that lit up, then the next day he come out looking like Brad Pitt to moderate the Legal Panel discussions.  I can't decide which look is better.  (also one of the nicer guys you'll meet but don't tell him I said that) 2.  ... Met an Interesting Girl in Vegas Last Night

By - January 22, 2010 - 7 Comments
So I met this interesting girl shortly after I got into Vegas last night. Now I'm a very happily married, faithful man but as a business man I love to hear a good sales pitch. She was doing a very god job advertising her wares and certainly must have had a degree in marketing. Her name was Vanity, a name so beautiful it had to be given at birth and she wanted to know if I wanted to party. As a country boy I though party was .....well party. So I went to the bar and bought her a few drinks. I mostly did it because I don't know anyone in Vegas and I had a few hours to kill and like I said, she looked... Read More »

A Few Nice Domains Dropping This Morning: Vegas Edition

By - January 22, 2010 - 0 Comments
As I write this I'm not actually in Vegas. The weather has canceled all flights out west but I hope by the time it posts I'll be there. I'm using the ridiculous amount of time I've been here at the airport to get some work done. I really didn't want to get any work done but as usual, I actually spend more time waiting for flights that I actually do in the air. I'm done bitching ...now onto the drops Edit: Made it to Vegas and finally met a few of the guys that I talk to every day via email and Twitter. I was exhausted but still managed to hang out with Morgan Linton and hear about all the exiti... Read More »
