Monday’s Memorial Day Domains Dropping
By ShaneCultra - May 31, 2010 - 1 Comment
Sold another 5L for $2K. It had been a very dry spell but I haven't done a very good job trying to make money domaining lately. When I am trying to do a million dollars in sales these last two months at the garden center, making a few thousand in domaining becomes less important. Not saying I don't like and want $2K, but I'm not going to step on a dollar to pick up a dime. Now onto the names.
Skycab.com Skycabs are those guys in the front of the airport that are waiting there when you get out of your limo. I'm always afraid to give them my luggage because they never seem real concerned abo... Read More »

Do You Have Enough Confidence In Yourself To Act When Others Tell You That You’re Crazy or Stupid?
By ShaneCultra - May 29, 2010 - 6 Comments
We all know the success stories of Frank Schilling, Rick Schwartz, and Kevin Ham. There are two reasons why they are wealthy men. One they had money. Two, they bought domains when others told them they were stupid and wasting their money. Ironically, these are the same two things that prevent people from making millions.
It takes money to make money. Two letter domains sold for $10-20K in 1995. That's a hell of a lot of money now and it was even more back then. To make it an even more ballsy was the fact that the Internet was not a "set" thing. I'm sure one person after another smiled and... Read More »

I’m Not a Fan of .tel Domains but I Have to Admit I Love Their Commercial
By ShaneCultra - May 28, 2010 - 1 Comment
Dot tel has a place. A very very limited place but if it really got you girls this hot then every man on the planet would have a dot tel. I enjoyed it and I think it actually does a good job giving the audience a sense of what .tel is all about. They don't go into the problems but let's just enjoy the positives today. The positive being the girl in the commercial.

What I Love About Domaining: Domainers Helping Domainers
By ShaneCultra - May 28, 2010 - 1 Comment
When I started domaining I felt like it was me against the world. I really didn't know any other people that did what I did. I read all the stories on dnjournal about all the "Pros" that were making a living buying and selling domains but they were way out of my league. Eventually I learned that we're all in the same league, it's just some people have more money, more domains, and more knowledge that I do. I'm closing the gap though, and it's all because of other domainers.
Since I've started this blog people have gotten to know me. They know my "niche" and every day someone emails me pointing o... Read More »

Thursday’s Nice Domains That Are Dropping and a few links
By ShaneCultra - May 27, 2010 - 1 Comment
I remember back 5 years ago when I was paying $500 for solid CVCV dot coms and now they are starting to fetch XX,XXX. This is why I love domaining. As long as there are those that don't see value we all have a chance to make good money if we are patient. I see CVCVs increasing for quite some time and I expect the top 5Ls to run right with them. Just my opinion and to offer a little more, here are some names I like for today
Skuf.com A nice pronounceable 4L dot com. Probably will hit $1000
Pentagons.com If you are going to sell pentagons this is the BEST domain in the world to do it fro... Read More »

And This is Why I Hate Buying Names on Forums
By ShaneCultra - May 26, 2010 - 3 Comments
I do like Namepros and DnForum. I still read them almost daily but I've haven't bought or sold a name in over a year and this is a typical reason why. I get so sick of the fake or out of the blue "received a pm for X" It's almost impossible to come to a reasonable agreement with most sellers and the ability of sellers to create their own Halverezes makes it difficult to know who you are bidding against. Sixteen thousand dollars is a lot of money to throw out and is not something I take lightly. By no means am I saying this person is trying to lie or cheat anyone, I'm just using it as an example.... Wednesday’s Nice Domains Dropping
By ShaneCultra - May 26, 2010 - 4 Comments
One of the hardest part of my business is it is completely dependent on weather. Hot or rainy days equal much lower sales. Weekends like the one coming up, sunny and mild, HUGE sales. Let's hope it actually happens. Domains and the Internet aren't as dependent on the weather (except for summer when not as many people are inside) and that's why I love domaining. Now on to today's dropping domains
GolfBracelet.com For some reason golfers think that little piece of metal will help their pain and golf game. It really doesn't matter if it works or not as long as they think it does. So tak... Read More »

Tuesday’s Nice Domains Dropping
By ShaneCultra - May 25, 2010 - 5 Comments
I used the word "fatties" yesterday in my domain comments and lost a reader. Now I'm down to three. I'll have to be more careful in my words to try and lose even more. I guess my Mom was the first reader of this blog and it would only be proper if she was the only one left reading it. So Mom, here are some nice domains that are dropping today.
GameConsols.org These kids seem to like these video game things. There seems to be money to be made selling them and perhaps you could do it using this here name
InvestorServices.com $5500 valuate and a great name for an end user sale

5L dot coms are Doing Very Well
By ShaneCultra - May 24, 2010 - 2 Comments
Five letter dot coms continue to do well in May. Many of the top domains are reaching $XXXX at Sedo and other platforms. As usual there are a lot of scratch your head sales and they show no real pattern except for Dibbo which is part of a lot of "ibbo" names moving lately. ie (kibbo, dibbo, bibbo) I know this as I've been the seller of two of these types. Here are 10 nice recent 5L sales (I've removed dictionary words and Tahoo because it was a typo of Yahoo)
Gamez.com $77,100 [sedo]
Dibbo.com $1500 [sedo]
Yahia.com $2322 [namejet]
Obika.com $3100 [sedo]
Wipit.com $200... Read More »
Monday’s Nice Domains Dropping and Links
By ShaneCultra - May 24, 2010 - 4 Comments
Had the best weekend ever for my plant websites. It was hot in the Midwest so Sunday's totals were week but many of my sites brought in $20 on Friday and then again on Saturday. Not a ton of money but I love earning $100 while I'm away. There are not a log I like today but maybe one of these domains will help you do the same.
RareVHS.com Not a ton of searches here but very definitive name and judging by the ads on Google, there is a market here
WhatsMy.com A ton of uses here
JumpingHorse.com If your kids are into horse jumping you'll know that this is a very expensive sport and these "jumpi... Read More »
