Thursday’s Daily Dropping Domains And Auctions and a Joke

By - September 30, 2010 - 0 Comments
Looks like the large Internet entities are starting to buy up smaller successful websites.  Techcrunch was the site that makes the headlines but in the last few months 3 of my website owning friends with sites that make $10,000 plus per month have been approached by big media companies.  Damn I sold too soon.   Now onto the names Remember yesterday when I was talking about domains I like?  This is # 3 Startups are big news on sites like techcrunch.  You could start a site talking  about companies BEFORE they even became companies.  Brilliant Touchin... 5 Domain Trends I’m Buying

By - September 29, 2010 - 12 Comments
There are plenty of ways to make money in domaining and even more ways to lose.   Some people buy generic dot coms, others buy other tlds and develop them.  I like to follow trends and try to capitalize on them. I really like to buy and sell "commodity" type domains, collectibles, 3L, 4L, 3N, 4N types.  The goal is to see value early, buy as many as I can afford and then get out.  Some times it's a quick flip of weeks. Often it takes years.  It's very much like trading it's as simple as buy low sell high.  Buy the rumor, sell the news.  Here are 5 Domain "trends" I'm buying, notice how most are d... Read More »

The focus of the event will be the following A general education about IDNs Their values H... Read More »

Tuesday’s Daily Domain Drops and Auctions

By - September 28, 2010 - 1 Comment
A funny thing happened yesterday and it epitomizes life.  I'm having a conference call to go over our company moving all our databases online so that we can access them from anywhere and of course, our internet is out.  It only goes out one to two hours a year and it was out 36 hours.  I didn't even report it until Monday morning and it was fixed in 6 or 7 hours but now that we're going to be moving online I expect this to happen more often. Very popular last name.  I have a friend named John Fogarty, of course, not THE John Fogarty.  You can't even imagine how many times he heard so... Read More »
