Tuesday’s Daily Drop and Auction Picks

By - July 5, 2011 - 0 Comments
Back to the grind today with the rest of the United States taking it easy on a three day weekend.  Like many retail business owners it wasn't a holiday for me.  Took Sunday off but worked Sat and Monday.  Did find some time for the family and all three of us did well in the annual Freedom 5K.  Even my 11 year old daughter ran under 28 minutes. I took a few hundred pictures of plants for my websites and to cap off the weekend, sold a 5L dot com for $1500 that I paid $150 for in Sept.  I knew I had a great buy when I got it and probably could have gotten more but you never go broke taking a profit. Google Officially Opens Up Prizes.Org, Another Crowdsourcing of Services Site

By - July 4, 2011 - 2 Comments
Want to have someone plan you 5 year old's birthday party?  How about finding you the best deal on a pair of running shoes?  Google is going to try and get that done for you through their new site Prizes.org. It's not really anything that hasn't been done before but their is one big difference.  It's Google, so there is going to be massive adoption.  After a few minutes it's pretty obvious that it's going to do two things.  One, it's going to allow people to get a lot of things done for them for cheap. Two, it's going to yet again, drive down the price of services.  Logo makers, designers, and ... Read More »

The Above Average Weekend Domain Drop and Auction Picks

By - July 2, 2011 - 1 Comment
Big weekend.  I get almost (have to go in and water plants)  two days off in a row for the first time since March 15th.  I'm going to try and use it to change the world.  Then again I may just lower my goals and try and get a few extra hours of sleep.  In the meantime, here are a few domains I like for the weekend that are at auction or dropping somewhere in the domain world. FanaticalApathy.com Other than being a hilarious name it's also a PR6.  Not sure if that matters anymore but 30 bidders think it does. Blok.com It's only on the wish list.  Not exactly sure how the wish list works but ... Read More »

With the advent of domain blogs and domain news sites there is a plethora of sources for up to the minute domain news.  But over the last 10 years there have been a few special moments that weren't covered in the depth that other larger stories were given. Friday’s Daily Domain Drop and Auction Picks

I absolutely loved the purchase by Justin Timberlake and investors of MySpace.com  There isn't any hotter celebrity in the world than Timberlake.  Girls love him and me want to be him. Timberlake can make Myspace cool all by himself.   I think this turns out to be one of the better purchases of 2011.  Now that I've revealed my crush for n'Sync we can take a look at the names I've found using dropday and perusing the internets. 4848.com Already at $5K.  I love the name but so do the Chinese and you probably aren't going to outbid them. UserTrends.com 1999 Birthday.  Everyone wants users and... Read More »
