Test of the Registrars: Trademark Domains

By - September 26, 2011 - 3 Comments
I seemed to ruffle quite a few feathers Friday and over the weekend with my post about domain squatters registering names that clearly violated the Facebook trademark. What ruffled so many of these feathers was the fact that I posted the WHOis information for the individuals that registered the names. While I still maintain that I did nothing wrong as the info posted was clearly public information, one commenter made a pretty good point in my mind. Maybe, and it's a big maybe, the folks that registered the names didn't really know what they were doing. Maybe they were new to domaining and didn't know re... Read More »

Monday’s Daily Domain Picks From the Auctions and Drops

By - September 26, 2011 - 2 Comments
Pretty slow weekend domain investing wise. Finally got 3 hours to finally watch two of DomainSherpa's videos. He does a great job. I have to admit I liked him the first time he came out with the videos but he was going under the name of Morgan Linton back then. He really has done a good job of getting top notch people in the industry but a few are a bit long. It was kind of like the tv show Lost. Very interested in the beginning, some great moments in the middle, but by the end both myself and the interviewees were ready for it to be over. Except Schwartz, he had 9 or 10 hours left in him. This Weekend’s Picks for Domain Auctions and Drops

By - September 24, 2011 - 3 Comments
Ahh finally feeling normal again today.  The damn thing called life keeps getting in the way of my fun.  I had 3 tv shows to do this week and countless media things.  I have no idea how people do press junkets. It's absolutely exhausting.  Add kids that play a million sports all over and you get a day that seems to never end.  I apologize for the weak posts but it was all I could do to get anything written. It's great having Chris aboard.  We're still looking for one more writer to add to the team to cover more domain news.  If you know anyone let us know.  Now here are some of the names I like ... There Is a Correlation Between Credit Score and What Email Domain A Person Uses

By - September 23, 2011 - 3 Comments
Credit Karma had some very interesting information about the correlation between which email domain you use and your credit score. A credit score says more about a person than just how well they pay back money.  According to Credit Karma, people with low credit scores file 40% more auto claims than people with higher credit scores.  Even the state you live in may make someone judge you without seeing the actual score.  Wisconsin is one of the top states for overall credit score.  And the worst?  That's an easy one,  Nevada.  Based on a sample of 20,000 credit scores the following data was comp...
