SHANE’S BIG LIST: Friday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on the 29th

I would personally like to thank Escrow.com for sponsoring this list for another 6 months. As I stated many times, they are the reason I feel comfortable buying and selling names from complete strangers from all over the world and its an honor for them to be the sponsor of this daily list. On that note, I still have some great spots left for advertising and willing to negotiate price if anyone is interested. At 40,000 to 50,000 domain investors reading this blog each month I would think that it could offer some value to anyone trying to promote their names, auctions, or their company. Email me if in... SHANE’S BIG LIST: Thursday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on the 30th

By - August 30, 2012 - 1 Comment
Believe it or not, don't have much to say.  Nursery is busy again and training new employees to get them ready for spring.  We have to train in the fall so they can train while there are still customers and aren't completely overwhelmed when spring comes.  We do half our business in 6 weeks and everything has to be perfect.  Gotta hate seasonal businesses.  Enjoy today's names 9v9.com One of those short names that people like. Memorable and repeating. All the qualities that lead to high prices. My kind of name Kivo.com  A great CVCV.com.  I think this finishes $5K plus .  14 years ol... Read More »

Michael Berkens doesn't have any prices on his names prior to receiving an inquiry. None.  At a lunch I had with Michael and a group of domain investors,  one of the guys at the table asked if he kept a spreadsheet and put ranges on his names.  Answer "Nope".   Until someone puts in an offer he doesn't worry about the price.  The reason is simple.  Its a unique name, therefore there truly are no comps and why worry about pricing until its time to sell. Elliot Silver had a little fun yesterday over at his blog and let users put up names and welcomed public appraisals of those names.  As we all ... Read More »

CottonTraders.com $18K, Rocket.co $16K, MyDriver.com $10K: Sedo’s Weekly Sales List

By - August 28, 2012 - 3 Comments
Sedo had weekly sales of $1.1 million this week which is a little down from the recent weeks.  No blockbuster names but some solid sales.  The trend I notice this past year is the names are now gravitating towards brands and less towards generics although one could argue that many of the higher priced sales are still generic.  Names like maidservice.com.  Here is the full list   Domain name Price Currency .COMs maidservice.com 49500 USD cottontraders.com 18000 USD ghub.com 13000 USD mymosaic.com 10000 USD mydriver.com 10000 USD mirova.com 9411 USD uspap.com 8800 USD birdify.com... OffTopic: If You’ve Had a Hard Day Here Is Your Free Smile for the Day

By - August 28, 2012 - 6 Comments
We all get a little down (not me, but everyone else) after a hard day's work but nothing brings a smile to my face like kids. They don't have the same cares that we do and don't take things personally until they get older.  The smile when they're happy and cry when they're sad.  Pretty easy to read.  So if you haven't smiled today I guarantee this video will bring one. It's off topic but worth sharing ... Read More »
