The Daily recap of Shane’s Auction Picks, the 11th of March 2016
Last week in the comments to the Domain Sherpa review I posted some names I found that were related to the ones submitted for the show. I wanted the Portfolio owner to see that there were all kinds of names out there that she could buy cheaply, that were better than the ones that she submitted. I thought that the names were decent and could be sold. I also told her how long it took me to find them and that even if she took a lot longer, she could find a list of names that would be a lot better and would sell.
So I was trolling around namepros a couple days later and I see 3 of the names listed for sale. I started laughing because they all had bids. I reached out to the guy that had registered them, DomainPluto on namepros, and asked him about the names and the auction. He said that he registered them for $6 somewhere after reading my post and yesterday or the day before the auction finished at $22 each. I think he said he’s a new domainer, and reads DSAD everyday. DomainPluto will do well, he just flipped a few names for a decent profit and now he can go buy 10 more names and do the same thing over. Even being “new” he found a way to easily make money selling domains in a week.
There’s a couple of point to take away from this.
- There are tons of good names out there that will easily sell, they just have to be uncovered, dusted off and presented to buyers.
- This business is dynamic with so may different strategies to make money, buying and selling names.
WOA.com Lots of Associations would want this. 21 years old
JVTV.com TV gives it a little more value. V wasn’t as bad back 20 years ago when this was registered
860 USD This is like public access or the B team of TV.
PSWR.com Only one bid at $1000.
1578 USD Stupid triple bastard chip
BikeForSale.com As long as you’re selling bikes, this is an awesome name
659 USD or as long as you’re selling one bike. It better be an awesome bike that you’re selling.
CustomRide.com And you can customize it as well
2,225 USD Well good news everyone. CustomBikeForSale.com is available. Save over $2K!
WisePick.com No bidders at $12. I wouldn’t say this is a wise pick but not too bad of a pick at this price
125 USD Isn’t wise a brand of some sort? We have Weis Supermarkets but I think there’s a Wise also.
ToplessTalk.com I’m not saying this has any value but if you build it out I will watch
? This is a strip club with a commentator/accouncer, “next up, weighing in at 97 pounds, hailing from the Community College part time nursing program, Candy!, let’s hear it for Candy folks.
888733.com At $300 at press time. A few days to go though
2 days left over 1K
034.net I don’t think I’ve seen a NNN.net in years
LMBT.com At $2K already. Down market?
RNDM.com This one is even higher
3,000 USD This one got all the way to $3k because it’s only a double bastard Chip, the one above was a triple, this cutting the price in half.
Flirtsy.com Opening bid is at $500 and I actually think it may be worth that. Cute name
? Yeah, I can see this retailing for 4 to 5 K.
Hyme.com A first and last name. Also the name of a few businsesses
1525 USD What if your name was Hyme Hyme, and you worked at Hyme’s Store?
FWT.co I have been buying these. I bought 3 and all three were renewed and I was refunded. I still like but I would be lying if I haven’t been bidding as much on LLL.co because I’m getting tired of it. But there were lots of bidders which is a good thing
620 USD, I just sold a couple non chip LLL.co’s for $200
Then there’s this list.
2979.co, 660 USD
5518.co, 680 USD

3622.co, 676 USD
1355.co, 680 USD
3398.co, 680 USD
3758.co, 650 USD
The are hundreds and hundreds of NNNN.co on the expired list today. all owned by the same person. We’ll see if they get renewed.
SYR.biz Could have had for nothing 6 months ago. Not nothing now
290 USD, Sorry Business.
RP55.com 55 makes it worth owning IMO
? The bastard Chip letters brought this one down.
113779.com These have dropped below the $200 range but I think it bounces back in the next few weeks. 6N is trying to find itself
202 USD, Ouch or awesome, depending on your perspective. Still looks like a lot of profit to me if I sell mine.
SuperPlugins.com 75,000 backlinks. That alone makes it worth watching
? Once we start getting into that amount of BL’s I start to worry about their quality. Especially when it’s promoting plugins. I guess every site that has the plugin installed could be linking back.
7n2.com Yeah, I don’t like these as much either but they have sold for years. Very very liquid
MelodyHits.com Was purchased for $9800 years ago. Now under $100 and no reserve
505 USD. Wow, bit of a loss…
82 3-character dot net Portfolio. Presently at exactly $1
Still at $1
