THE BIG AFTERMARKET LIST: Thursday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on June 19th, 2014

Jun 19 2014

Get used to it.  As new products and companies come to market, most are not going to own the dot com.  Less and less to be exact.  As the decades pass and domains are claimed, the numbers just don’t match up. There will be several companies and products with similar names.  Not every new company has the financial resources to acquire the dot com.  Many don’t even care if they do.  Our industry thinks they should, marketing people will tell you they should try, and everyone agrees that they should look at domain while they are naming.  But it doesn’t happen all the time.  And it’s simple redundancy to name every company that doesn’t.  It certainly isn’t news and writing articles about it doesn’t shame them into buying it. Financials and brand awareness or lack thereof , are the only things that will persuade a buy.  That and the company having plenty of marketing money, and that’s the companies I like dealing with.    Here are today’s names.  One bid at $15K and I think it’s worth every bit of that      Looking at past comps shows that people pay big bucks for 3dprinter names.  After numerics, 3d printing and bitcoin are the hottest domain category in the biz. And the market really hasn’t even become commonplace yet  Not sure what the end user would sell but guessing it would be naughty  Nickname for Bermuda  12 years old.  No bidders.  Worth buying just for being a nice   aka vacation review.  I’d rather go on a vacation than read about one but have to admit I read a ton of reviews about the areas I’m going so this has value IMO  Hard to believe this doesn’t have a bid.  $12 would be a steal   A punter is a gambler in England.  So you can see the value if you think gambling. Only one bidder   Every time one sells it’s setting new comps for me to get a firm grip on value  I know a little bit about these values and this one is cheap IMO   Fun name.  Like Lindsay Lohans list but toned down

If the GD links aren’t working by press time you can also go HERE and type the name in. (weren’t working properly when I went to bed)   Several bids has this up to $160k, yes $160K.  And it hasn’t me reserve Take a look

HUGE dot info portfolio.   Didn’t put the best one in the title   At $150 right now

NEW!!!! Working Godaddy Domain Code of the day.. 99 cent New Registration GOFD722A  Because you’d hate to build something based on worst plans  And upgrade name for a lot of products and companies Lots of bidders, not lots of action  I think some girls are still named Sharla  Haven’t been a ton of LLN.coms up lately after a recent run.  The good ones are closing on $1K each   As easy of a buildout as there is  It will interesting to see what this present tense verb goes for.   Would actually make a good brand and not all verbs do   Watch it.  This may be a flippable market  Already at $500

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. *All names chosen by me, Shane, and the goal of this list is to have all links be paid through commission . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct.

All these extensions that have been created are going to make the baseball market collapse of the 90s and many other market crashes look like a walk in the park. Big Time Dilution occurring.
Bad for companies in forcing them to buy up extensions to protect their names and trademarks.
    Public/Marketplace confusion.
Property owners have less buyers to sell to since buyers have a ton more options.
    Nice post.
Nice Job with new site and domain sales past couple years.
