Sales Report from 4.cn: Numerics, Short, and Chinese Domains

By - January 16, 2013 - 2 Comments
A bunch of high end numerics and short domains ended recently at 4.cn and I thought I would post them for comparables since they are not part of the DnJournal price list.  It shows that the numerics continue to grow in price each year, and even each month.  Keep these in mind when you see the weekly top sales as many of these would be in the top 10. 0h.com  $10,457  (went cheap because the zero and 0 are confusing) 4141.com  $11,421  (I was in until $10K, should have gone to $12K) 520.mobi $1270 (even .mobi does well with numerics) mf.cc  $912 (tell me how many other dot cc sell for a... If You Like Number Domains Then You’ll Like Auctions Ending Tomorrow at 4.cn

By - January 12, 2013 - 4 Comments
4.cn, the Chinese domain auction site, is known for selling high end numerics. Tomorrow will add to those numbers. There are some awesome high end numerics ending there the next couple days. In my opinion these are still a great investment and they are very limited and always will be. And it's not like the Chinese population is going down or getting poorer any time soon. Hell, I'm even in Chinese stocks like SINA and Baidu right now and tore it up last week. Here are some of the names ending in the next couple days. The price is its current price but they surely will go WAY up 324.com $13,307 31... Read More »

KQ.com Sells For $102,480 At 4.cn

By - December 4, 2012 - 2 Comments
Although it won't make it on any of the domain industry weekly sales lists, KQ.com sold this morning over at 4.cn for $102,480 or 638,000 RMB for all you Chinese currency buyers.  You probably have noticed that the Chinese are starting to become major players in the domain industry.  Something that I have been preaching since I started this blog. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to understand that a community of 2 billion people in the largest economy in the world may be an area that domain investors want to target.  This year was a turning point with some pretty solid prices being fetched for som... Is a New Modern Day .Mobi Price Record About to Be Set With 888.mobi?

By - November 7, 2012 - 5 Comments
Dot mobi has become legendary....but not for a good reason. Dot mobi even took the legendary Rick Schwartz, king of domains, for a spill. Evidently there is one keyword that can overcome ANY tld, 888. Those three numbers could possibly be the most valuable "keywords" in the world. Valuable because they need no translation. Valuable because 2 billion people cherish them. But is it valuable enough to make even a dot mobi hit a high price? Evidently. 4.cn is auctioning off 888.mobi and with 5 days left its already at $3,000.  According to Namebio, 888 has fetched some pretty good prices on other... Read More »

4.cn Releases Top 15 Sales for the Month of May: 15 Domains Sell for Total of $1.84 Million

By - June 5, 2012 - 3 Comments
While we domain investors concentrate on English speaking domain markets there is a world of a billion people paying top prices for Chinese word and numeric domains.  The DnJournal monthly chart would look a whole lot different if the Chinese didn't hold the sales prices so close to their chest.  But you could say that about almost any auction house.  There are many high prices sales whose prices never see the light of day. 4.cn  (thank you Michael) was nice enough to provide me a little more insight about their sales by sending me ranges and the top 15 sales of the month.  The total for just th...
