By - February 17, 2011 - 8 Comments
The 5L market continues to do well. The better 5L dot com domains are fetching $2000 and more, consistently. The other positive note is who is buying these names. The majority look to be for online businesses rather than personal sites. And as we know, businesses pay more than bloggers. Take a look at some recent sales. Sansa.com $13,500 Pengo.com $2540 Todos.com $10,601 Jinji.com $10, 200 Vimon.com $3,800 Aword.com $2,000 Empat.com $3,688 Nahma.com $3,588 Catar.com $4,000 Armut.com $2,500 Ridex.com $5500 Leemo.com $2,329 Zuggo.com $2,222... Answering the Questions About How I Sell My 5 Letter Dot Coms

By - January 20, 2011 - 11 Comments
The most often asked question in the comments section or emails is "Where and How do you sell your 5 letter dot coms?"  I'm going to start off with this.  MOST OF THE 5 LETTER DOT COMS ARE WORTH REGISTRATION FEE.  It's a fact and almost every name I get sent to me for evaluation is a bunch of junk and would best left in the open registration.  Here is a little summary of how I approach 5 Letters dot coms. 1.  If you hand registered a name it is worth $8.  I have never hand registered a 5 letter dot com. 2. I have all my 5 letter domains at Sedo. They seem to get the most bids there.  I am a... Read More »

5L Dot Coms Further Secure Their $1500-$3000 Range

By - January 19, 2011 - 8 Comments
You've heard me preaching to the skies about good 5 letter dot coms selling regularly at $1500 to $3000 and every once in a while a little more if you have an eager buyer. Every week it seems 5 or 6 names pop in the top sellers list.  This week was no different.  I was the seller of a 5 letter dot com in the last two weeks' list.  To the people that say there were millions of 5 letters that didn't sell, you are actually giving me a compliment.  All you're saying is out of the millions of names only these sold, yet I sold two of them. Pretty good odds if you ask me, and I do this regularly.  Take a ... Read More »

5L dot Coms Have Another Fantastic Week

By - August 20, 2010 - 4 Comments
5 Letter dot coms are doing absolutely fantastic.  In some respects I think the sales are even better that 4 letter dot coms.  You certainly can create much better names with 5 letters.  Here are the top 5 letter dot coms as posted in DnJournal. The NameJet numbers weren't in this week but Sedo alone seemed to have six 5Ls above $3000 all by themselves.  Again, not all 5Ls are worth this much and there is a certain trend of what types of names are fetching these prices.  If you can't see it, I'm certainly not going to tell you. Finch.com  $16,225  (Moniker) Neota.com  $550  (Sedo) ... Read More »

Here Are a Few Names That I’ve Purchased Lately

By - July 2, 2010 - 2 Comments
I've mentioned the last few months that I haven't been buying many names lately.  I've been building my bankroll to buy some names in the low  XX,XXX range but of course if strong plant names or 5Ls come along I've purchased them as well.  Nothing great here but you can see my "theme" here. Seedhouse.com Hortica.com Phormium.com (I sell this plant) Plectranthus.com (and this one) PlantsforSale.net LandscapingProducts.net BestHostingCompany.net  (bought it because it was cheap and high CPC, easy directory) BearBryant.net  (graduated from Alabama) Pikku.com (I have pakku.co...
