The Weekly 5L dot Com Sales and Auction Report

By - June 24, 2010 - 3 Comments
Another fantastic week for 5 letter dot coms.  There were some 5Ls on Sedo and NameJet that hit some nice numbers in the auctions.  I was part of many and sold another $800 worth this week with yesterday's name Tonky.com hitting roughly $350, a fair price but I think the buyer can still turn this for more money in a year or so.   DnJournal is the source of the prices but for some reason they left off Namejet auctions but of course I was part of all the 5L auctions so I listed the top from last week below as well Chaba.com $5499 (NameJet) eCred.com $5000 (Sedo) accys.com $4392 (Sedo) Kite... This Week’s Top 5L dot Com Sales

By - June 18, 2010 - 8 Comments
Another fine week for 5 letter dot com sales.  Every month there seems to be more 5Ls that are achieving prices over $2,000.   As I always do, I want to remind new domain investors to be careful with 5Ls. For every one of the sales below there are 1 million names that are worth squat.  Of course,  if you can figure out which names have value there is a ton of money to be made in this area.  It's treating me very well.  I have had two $2000 plus sales this month.  I am also buying some 5Ls for over $1K myself right now.  NameJet has also been delivering $500-$1000 drop prices on 5Ls as well.  H... 5L dot coms are Doing Very Well

By - May 24, 2010 - 2 Comments
Five letter dot coms continue to do well in May.  Many of the top domains are reaching $XXXX at Sedo and other platforms.  As usual there are a lot of scratch your head sales and they show no real pattern except for Dibbo which is part of a lot of "ibbo" names moving lately.  ie (kibbo, dibbo, bibbo) I know this as I've been the seller of two of these types.  Here are 10 nice recent 5L sales (I've removed dictionary words and Tahoo because it was a typo of Yahoo) Gamez.com  $77,100    [sedo] Dibbo.com  $1500  [sedo] Yahia.com $2322 [namejet] Obika.com $3100 [sedo] Wipit.com $200... Anyone Else Like 5L dot coms? Take a Look At a Few of My Favorites

By - April 26, 2010 - 7 Comments
My real domain business has and always been plant names.  I have coneflower.com, heucheras.com, vermicomposting.com, moderngardener.com, nurserycatalog, coleus.com, landscapemanager, and 100s more.  It's how I make my real money in domaining but i DO love 5 letter dot coms.  They are such great brands.  Generally they don't mean anything and contrary to to 4 letter domains, can create words that are easy to say and spell.  As I've said a million times before, MOST 5L ARE JUNK, but the good ones, in my opinion, are just as valuable as any CVCV.com.  Here is a list of some of the names I've acquired... Round Two: Where To Sell 5L Dot Coms

By - April 14, 2010 - 4 Comments
So your 5L domain made it past the "it's not junk" test.  Now how or where in the world do you sell them.  Here are a few of the different ways I've used to sell them.  Before we get to that though, I want to remind you that cash is just as important as the big sales.  There are names that have the ability to fetch big dollars and there are some that are just good.  It takes practice to know when to flip some for a few hundred dollars and when to pass on the $700 offers and hold out for thousands.  The key is to have a certain limit you want to spend on 5Ls and then when you've reached that limit,...
