Real Estate Developers Spend $50 Billion On Projects, Don’t Bother To Secure One .COM For $8

By - January 25, 2012 - 2 Comments
Very interesting article today over at a Vietnam based website describing a situation that I have well documented as one of my biggest pet-peeves. Apparently the Vietnamese are simply behind the times (according to the article, not me) when it comes to registering domain names that correlate with real estate development projects, company entities, or just about anything in general I'd assume. According to the article, which you can read here, nearly $50 Billion has been spent on real estate projects in Vietnam without one matching .COM being registered by the developing companies. In other words, whi... Read More »

One Of The Worst Domains I’ve Ever Seen … Legitimately Monetized

By - November 4, 2011 - 4 Comments
Every day I check out the press releases at PRWeb.com to see if there are any new domain related releases. I simply search the term 'domain' in the search box on the home page and PR Web displays all the recent results. Today I came across the press release that read GoDaddy Receives November Host of the Month Award from 100Best-Free-Web-Space.com The first thing I did when I read this was laugh. Maybe it's just me but I'm going to find it difficult to take anything seriously from a site called 100Best-Free-Web-Space.com, one of the worst domain names I've ever seen and probably the worst I've eve... Local Business Fail: I Try and Give Fellow Local Business The Dot Com and They Never Called Back

The more I spend the better the chances of that business being able to offer better pricing and more selection in the f... Read More »

These Business Domains are in Need of an Upgrade

By - September 20, 2011 - 5 Comments
Good morning. I know it's Tuesday but I hope you all had a good weekend. I'm sorry I didn't have much to contribute yesterday but I spent my Monday recovering from a little game I invented called "Do a shot every time my Detroit Lions score" and I picked one hell of a Sunday to start playing that. My post today marks what will hopefully be a weekly tradition around here.  It is very similar to my TucsonRealDeals.com article I posted not long ago. I'm simply going to call out some domains that could use upgrading and then provide what I feel is an option or two that is not only better but available f... Read More »

I’m Calling Out Your Business Domain

By - September 9, 2011 - 12 Comments
Hello All. If you're like me, you notice domains everywhere...on the back of the truck in front of you on the road, at the bottom of an advertisement on TV, scribbled on the stall of Bouzouki's Strip Club's men's bathroom at 2:45 in the morning the last three Saturday nights. When I see a domain being advertised by a company the first question that enters my mind is: Does this work? And then: Could they do better? While the answer to the first question can vary depending on a number of factors, the answer to the second question in many instances is Yes. One thing that irritates me as a domainer is wh...
