Very interesting article today over at a Vietnam based website describing a situation that I have well documented as one of my biggest pet-peeves. Every day I check out the press releases at PRWeb.com to see if there are any new domain related releases. I simply search the term 'domain' in the search box on the home page and PR Web displays all the recent results. Local Business Fail: I Try and Give Fellow Local Business The Dot Com and They Never Called Back

I've always been lived by the motto "Start Local".  I will always start by trying to purchase what I need from local businesses.  I own a local business and wish everyone would approach their purchases in this manner.  The reality is that many businesses can't offer me anywhere near the pricing and selection that I can find in a larger city or the Internet but I try.  If the price is close then I'm willing to spend a little more money because I would love the money to stay in town.
