By - June 27, 2011 - 1 Comment
Here's a nice little graphic that shows the amazing amount of activity that occurs every 60 seconds on the Internet.  To me the most amazing is the 695,000 status updates on Facebook.  That's per MINUTE!  Take a look at the other happenings in that same amount of time ... Read More »

If I Complain Enough Things CAN Happen: Boxcar Officially Adds Reserves

By - June 23, 2011 - 0 Comments
It's what I love about Mike and Boxcar. He may act easy going and nonchalant,  but he's listening.  My biggest and really only fault with Boxcar was the lack of reserves to guide me in my bidding process.  I didn't want to waste my time on a name that was way out of my price range nor did I want to pass on something because I assumed it was. (I know,  never assume).   As of today it's been fixed and as promised Mike said he would be adding it soon and I would be the first to know.  Sure enough, three days later he's added it and I think everyone will appreciate the added info. Trust Your Registrar? Aussie Registrar and Hosting Company Distribute.IT Loses 4000 Sites and Backups

By - June 21, 2011 - 7 Comments

They weren't a huge registrar with only 4800 domains but they also had hundreds of companies and people they provided hosting. Account holders had noticed increased do... Read More »

Scott Carter, the Present Owner of Social.com, Should Have an Extra Couple Million Dollars by the End of the Week

By - June 6, 2011 - 10 Comments
As we've read countless times over the last few weeks, Social.com is up for auction.  Nobody is going to be more excited if it sells than Scott Carter, the present owner of the domain. DomainFest Barcelona has picked up the name as their headliner in the upcoming Live Auction on Wednesday.   It's the kind of story that all original domain investors dream about.  Carter registered the name in 1995, holds the name for 16 years until he finally gets the millions of dollars. Of course, Carter would have settled for a lot less back in 1997 and again in 2007. According to TechCrunch Social.com was not... Read More »

Looks Like the Early Loser From the InternetTraffic.com Transition is Oversee

By - May 20, 2011 - 7 Comments
Since the announcement of Frank Schillings new monetization platform, InternetTraffic.com there has been some large portfolio movement over to the new DNS.  Obviously the names were parked somewhere before the move so inevitably there were going to be some parking companies losing tens of thousands of domain, their traffic, and their money. Using DailyChanges.com you get to see on a daily basis what domains are moving into the new program.  After taking a look at the 6440 domains moving in yesterday I drew a few conclusions from the data 1. Dsredirection.com is the nameserver that 6131 of the 64... Read More »
