4.cn Reports The Sale of 999.com for $632,772

By - May 16, 2012 - 7 Comments
I just received an email from 4.cn proudly announcing that they had just finished brokering the sale of 999.com for 4,000,000 RMB or approximately $632,000 which would put it at number two on the annual sales chart compiled over at DnJournal. 4.cn has always been known as the king of the numeric domains and this past year has been no exception.DnJournal also reported the sale of 60.com last week and its no surprise they are one of the bigger clients of 4.cn. Congrats to the buyers, sellers, and 4.cn on this fantastic sale.  The numeric domain market is thriving.... Read More »

Pretty Impressive Auction Coming Up if You Like Numeric dot Coms

By - March 27, 2012 - 1 Comment
You know I'm a big fan of numeric dot coms and I think Namejet and 4.cn pretty much own that market.  4.cn is proving it yet again with an auction that's closing in 11 days.  Take a look at these names (look down to 11 day left).  It's pretty impressive IMO 40.com GD.net Tizi.com 0y.com Hutu.com YRY.com 6h.com 8999.com 4939.com 403.com 6908.com   9759.com 5176.com 9796.com 5524.com 0261.com 4378.com 2102.com 7301.com 0105.com 2793.com 7612.com  ... 881.com Sells for $60,101, FuFu.com $45,000 and 48.com Doesn’t Meet Reserve

By - December 22, 2011 - 6 Comments
If I learned something today it's that it's good to have a short number domain with an 8 in it.  I also learned that the reserve ranges of 4.cn can be at the top, even the to the last dollar.  48.com was pretty close to the high end of the reserve and still didn't meet.  It was at $224,000 so I would imagine the reserve was $250,000.   Somehow I think that there will be a little negotiation between the high bidder and seller to make the deal happen. Here are a few names that were up for auction this morning at 4.cn 48.com  Didn't hit Reserve ($224,000) Fufu.com  Sold at $45,000 881.com ... Read More »

XY.com Sells for $149,557

By - December 21, 2011 - 11 Comments
Today over at 4.cn, XY.com sold for 948,000 RMB or approximately $149,500 making it one of the better sales of the month. 838.c0m failed to meet reserve even though it reached $61,000.  804 also failed to reach reserve but it ended at $11,000 which left it way under market.  It also shows that the Chinese do not like numbers that end in 4, even if they are three digit numbers. There are several other CVCV and number domains about to hit some big numbers over the next few days over there as well. I do believe this is one of the higher two letter dot com sales of all time.  Although I may be wrong. ... Read More »

Numeric Domains Continue to Increase In Value: Did I Sell Too Early?

By - October 30, 2011 - 3 Comments
It's hard to miss if you read the blog. I have been all over numeric domains the last year and a half.  I've created my own four number dot com price guide by hand compiling all the sales over the last year.  Of the 9,999 possible domain sales there have been over 400 sales in the last few years. A relatively small percentage but enough that I have been able to get a feel of the numbers.  It's also helped me establish a minimum price for even the worst numbers.  That all changes when you drop down to 3 number and two number dot coms.  There are no commodity domains when you get this limited.  The ...
