10 of My Favorite Business Quotes: “The Business of Business is Business”

By - March 10, 2011 - 4 Comments
That was a quote my Dad always uses.  I've laughed about it for 20 years.  Even made a poster of it with his picture and that quote under it and had it framed.  As a kid my Dad loved quotable quotes and would walk around the kitchen reading them out loud as my Mom made dinner.  My parents are and always have been avid readers. Because of this influence I've always loved a good quote.  Especially from great business minds.  Here are some of my favorite and you'll notice I have quite a few from Carlos Slim Helu.  He seems to have the consistent ability to deliver a timeless quote. One should not... Read More »

A Nice Infographic on The History of Domains

By - March 7, 2011 - 4 Comments
This has made it's rounds on the Internet and may be old to some but I thought it was a nicely laid out presentation of the history of domains. It doesn't include 2010 so it's quickly become out of date but still great to get an overall look at history all in one page. Originally Posted by Andy Crofford on December 12, 2010 on Testking... Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Takes over DomainFest Illness Case

By - February 11, 2011 - 4 Comments

The great moments that make you want to keep investing and buying more domains.  Here are 17 “feel good” moments I’ve experienced over the last 10 years or those that I hope I feel some day. 1. Selling that first domain for a profit.  For most of us it was a hand reg.  I was s... Read More »

AngelList.com Changes Url to Angel.co Nevermind Always Has Been

By - January 21, 2011 - 4 Comments
Update:  I evidently didn't do my homework, as the site has always been Angel.co and I would take the story down so as to not show my incompetence but it's still a good story about the success of dot co and Angel.co is a great site so I'll leave it up:   If you're not familiar with AngelList, it's a website that partners Angel investors with new startups looking for money.  The premise is simple.  If you are an Angel investor you put your profile on the list, what kind of companies you're looking for, what kind of funding your provide, etc.   Start-ups will then have an easier time finding investor...
