Domain Flips (NEEN.com, KMH.org, TaxShelter.com) and Flops (IIRC.com, ERSS.com) from NameBio

May 20 2015

Below is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with data courtesy of NameBio.

Flips

TaxShelter.com sold for 9,566 USD recently at NameJet, vs 6,500 USD on 2013-04-11 at NameJet. A simple placeholder is live (below) that promotes CheapLawyers.com and CheapAttorneys.com. Picked up by a 40,000+ domain portfolio holder — DHARSHINEE NAIDU, per Whois. They also own domains such as Planes.com and Cartoons.com.

BusinessRadio.com sold recently for 8,792 USD at NameJet, vs 4,100 USD on 2009-11-11 at NameJet. Looks like someone is spending some cash at NameJet. Same buyer as TaxShelter, and same type of placeholder is live.

NEEN.com sold recently for 9,500 USD at NameJet, vs 4,100 USD on 2013-12-18 at NameJet. I’d be happy with a double every year and a half.

GreenInvestments.com sold recently for 9,100 USD at NameJet, vs 2,001 USD on 2013-05-12 at NameJet. But 4x is better than 2x.

KMH.org sold recently for 7,140 USD at Sedo, vs 440 USD on 2013-07-08 at NameJet. Nearly 14x after commission, in under two years.

WagyuSteaks.com sold recently for 2,000 USD at NameJet, vs 124 USD on 2014-01-05 at GoDaddy. Same as above…14x after commission.

DomainNamePortfolio.com sold recently for 7,100 USD at GoDaddy, vs 1,255 USD on 2012-05-08 at GoDaddy. Picked up by an individual in California that owns a little over 3,000 domains, per Whois.

Flops

MediaInfo.com sold for 7,520 USD on 2015-05-07 at Flippa, vs 10,100 USD on 2012-08-15 at DNArab/Flippa.

VOIPCloud.com sold for 1,202 USD on 2015-05-12 at NameJet, vs 2,300 USD on 2014-01-15 at NameJet.

IIRC.com sold for 1,311 USD on 2015-05-14 at NameJet, vs 2,210 USD on 2012-11-30 at NameJet.

ERSS.com sold for 880 USD on 2015-05-14 at Flippa, vs 1,194 USD on 2010-12-06 at Sedo. You don’t see too many of the hot LLLL.com domains as flops, but there are two this week…..you’ve still got to buy them at the right prices.

Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
