Domain Flips (NMDS.com, CBHK.com, Cheap.cc) and Flops (BBSM.com, Dead.ly, Worldville.com)

Apr 03 2016

Below is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with data courtesy of NameBio.

Flips

NMDS.com sold for 1,744 USD recently at NameJet, vs 499 USD on 2013-01-06 at NameJet. As stated nearly every week: wholesale prices of LLLL.com have absolutely dropped recently, but if you bought your 4L a year or more ago, you’re probably sitting in excellent shape.

CBHK.com sold for 1,736 USD recently at 4.CN, vs 232 USD on 2014-11-08 at NameJet.

Rippling.com sold for 4,000 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 1,649 USD on 2015-08-06 at Sedo.

NJW.net sold for 3,910 USD recently at NameJet, vs 781 USD on 2012-02-10 at NameJet.

SilverInvestment.com sold for 3,866 USD on 2016-03-25 at NameJet, vs 204 USD on 2015-12-08 at GoDaddy. Surprising return in just a few months on a domainer platform. Picked up by an individual in Newport, Rhode Island.

Advisory.net sold for 2,988 USD recently at Sedo, vs 1,050 USD on 2015-11-29 at Flippa. Nice flip in 4 months. Given the venue and the price, I’m assuming an end user picked it up, but the domain is still showing as in transfer.

Cheap.cc sold for 2,153 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 126 USD on 2013-03-31 at GoDaddy. I’ve never owned one, but I know many people are rooting for .cc values —- both the short variety and keywords.

Flops

BBSM.com sold for 2,255 USD recently at NameJet, vs 1,999 USD on 2015-10-09 at NameJet. About a 6 month hold. Looks fine until you factor in those pesky commissions.

PropertyRehab.com sold for 630 USD on 2016-03-27 at GoDaddy, vs 1,688 USD on 2014-03-02 at Afternic. An Austin, TX based property rehab firm used to reside here, per screenshots from Archive.org.

UnlimitedFun.com sold for 607 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 2,800 USD on 2012-04-18 at Afternic.

Dead.ly sold for 500 USD recently at Flippa, vs 1,550 USD on 2015-04-30 at Flippa. Are the .ly domains dying?

Worldville.com sold for 411 USD recently at DropCatch, vs 3,588 USD on 2009-12-02 at Afternic. Whatever happened to Domainsville?

SheRuns.com sold for 210 USD recently at NameJet, vs 2,500 USD on 2012-02-29 at Afternic. This was developed as recently as January 2016, according to Archive.org, and a screenshot is below. The former site described itself as “dedicated to empowering women to becoming better from the inside out.

Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
