Domain Flips

  • – Sold recently for $9,500 at Sedo, vs $5,911 in 2012 at GoDaddy. Interesting….the buyer was Racing Victoria, and they decided a short time later to make a much bigger splash by buying the shorter for a reported $500,000+.
  • – Sold recently for $7,600 at Sedo, vs $5,100 in 2011 at Sedo. Picked up by an individual in New Zealand. Parked.
  • – Sold recently for $2,800 at Sedo, vs $455 last year at GoDaddy. An upgrade for Abbreviation for Child & Family Support Services. “CFSS is a behavioral health services provider agency in Arizona that provides supportive services for children, adolescents, young adults and families.” Screenshot below.

  • – Sold recently for $8,401 at Flippa, vs $25,000 in 2011 at Sedo. Ouch……a loss of over 2/3 their purchase price. A site has been live for years, but I’m guessing the owner just didn’t get traction in the search engines, or simply lost interest. Despite the live site, it was as a domain-only sale at Flippa.

Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.

Given what 3 letter dot com prices have risen to recently rxi seems like a win for the buyer and a loss for the seller. Even with that x in the middle the buyer got a great deal at $7600

Personally, I think the buyer got a fair deal, but not a screaming good deal.

Anyone running around saying the floor price of is $7k or $8k is incorrect. I know because I just tried to sell a few of them at that price and was not successful.

That said, is a better domain than the few that I was trying to sell. Upgrade possibility for,, and more.

      Thanks for your comment.
