Domain Flips (Weekdays.com, JT.tv, NHHP.com) and Flops (XUH.com, Hot.co)

Oct 27 2015

Below is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with data courtesy of NameBio.

Flips

BPCA.com sold for 1,776 USD recently at NameJet, vs 343 USD on 2011-12-12 at NameJet. As is typical lately, there were lots of 5-10x returns on LLLL.com that I could have listed this week.

NHHP.com sold for 1,636 USD recently at NameJet, vs 131 USD on 2011-03-07 at NameJet.

JT.tv sold for 6,100 USD recently at NameJet, vs 525 USD on 2011-03-24 at SnapNames. A couple profitable LL.tv flips this week.

HO.tv sold for 4,800 USD recently at NameJet, vs 800 USD on 2011-03-24 at SnapNames.

DMZ.org sold for 7,200 USD recently at Flippa, vs 2,010 USD on 2007-12-11 at GoDaddy.

HealthReviews.com sold for 3,988 USD recently at Sedo, vs 860 USD on 2014-07-04 at NameJet. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an end user behind this one, but the owner is under privacy protection, and there is no site live yet.

Weekdays.com sold for 8,100 USD recently at NameJet, vs 5,100 USD on 2014-09-24 at NameJet.

XUH.com sold for 18,220 USD recently at NameJet, 15,500 USD on 2015-05-20 at QLQ.com. Looks profitable until you take into account those darn commissions. Assuming 15% commissions, the seller netted $15,487, equating to a loss of (a) $13 and (b) the opportunity cost of having over $15,000 tied up for five months.

Gadgets.net sold for 4,705 USD recently at NameJet, vs 16,330 USD on 2011-05-25 at Sedo. A loss of well over $10k.

HotProspect.com sold for 403 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 2,650 USD on 2012-05-09 at Sedo.

WorkFromHome.biz sold for 999 USD recently at Flippa, 1,000 USD on 2014-08-06 at Sedo. Good phrase, bad extension.

City.biz sold for 898 USD recently at NameJet, vs 3,000 USD on 2010-11-02 at SnapNames. See above.

Hot.co sold for 5,100 USD recently at NameJet, 10,000 USD on 2013-02-20 at Sedo. Not so hot of an investment.

Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
