Domains Flips (Jumpo.com, Zuxy.com) and Flops (NWN.com, BCIG.com) from NameBio

Apr 26 2015

Below is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with data courtesy of NameBio.

Flips

PowerInvesting.com sold for 1,505 USD recently at NameJet, vs 520 USD on 2013-04-20 at NameJet. Looks like Frank Schilling’s Name Administration was the buyer……if anyone qualifies as a power domain investor, he does.

Jumpo.com sold recently 5,400 USD at NameJet, vs 710 USD on 2012-03-18 at NameJet. The new landing page shows an asking price of $21,000.

Restaurant.info sold recently for 14,300 USD at Sedo, vs 2,400 USD on 2013-06-12 at NameJet. There was some discussion in the comments earlier this week that .info pricing has softened, but there are always anomalies…..especially when an end user comes around. At least I assume it’s an end user at this pricing….Whois shows the domain in transfer at Sedo.

Zuxy.com sold recently for 2,201 USD at GoDaddy, vs 405 USD on 2014-04-21 at GoDaddy.

WePark.com sold recently for 2,550 USD at GoDaddy, vs 120 USD on 2007-04-03 at Sedo. Picked up by a New York based parking company that has its main site at iPark.com (pictured below), a domain they picked up for $23,000 back in 2013. The iPark domain is a rebrand from Imperial Parking.

Flops

NWN.com sold recently for 32,220 USD at NameJet, vs 29,000 USD on 2013-11-27 at Sedo. Given the hot state of the LLL.com market, it’s not often you see a LLL.com flop (Oar.com is another example). However, assuming 15% commissions at NameJet, the seller netted about $27,400.

Bells.org sold recently for 1,200 USD at Flippa, vs 1,209 USD on 2010-12-11 at NameJet.

BCIG.com sold recently for 1,050 USD at DropCatch, vs 10,000 USD on 2013-12-17 at Sedo. This was a drop, so whoever spent $10k less than two years ago lost it all.

ErgonomicDesign.com sold recently for 798 USD at GoDaddy, vs 3,100 USD on 2008-04-28 at NameJet.

WorkDesks.com sold recently for 837 USD at GoDaddy, vs 2,200 USD on 2010-11-24 at Afternic. Product domains aren’t what they used to be.

iSpice.com sold recently for 204 USD at GoDaddy, vs 2,188 USD on 2012-04-18 at Afternic. Neither are the “i” domains……a 90% loss here.

Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
