DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Monday, April 20th, 2015

Escrow.com

I saw a comment on the TheDomains.com regarding a post that was written about the uptrend in dot io.  It was by a person that refuses to write anything less than 1800 characters and always feels there are forces of evil behind anything good.  He feels that the success of dot io has been all hype.  Hype by a select few and Flippa.  A conspiracy.  But this person always feels there is conspiracy.  That Flippa is always evil.  He is wrong.  Dot io has caught on.   It has reached the tipping point where the startup community and domain buyers feel that there is a future with this extension.  Who caused the confidence is inconsequential.  All that matters is there is a market.  It also doesn’t matter if there are bag holders.  There are ALWAYS bag holders.  Sometimes it takes a year to make them.  Some times it takes decades.  We are domain investors. We buy and sell domains. Are only goal is to buy them and sell them for more than we paid.  You don’t cry when you weren’t smart or risky enough to buy when they are cheap and you don’t cry if you can’t sell a name for what you paid for it.  If you are a domain investor you will at some point have done both.  .  The job of most of the industry is to market and hype domains.  All the new extensions are built on hype and marketing.  I am pissed I didn’t buy any dot io.  But if I see an opportunity to buy and flip a domain at any point I am going to take it.  It’s called a market. The entire stock market is built on it.  Sure there are assets and performance behind the stocks but most of the price is hype.  There is no reasoning to 99% of stock movement.  Its controlled by computerized trading.  Domain prices are at least controlled by a human. Humans are buying the dot io.  They are consciously placing bids and many different people are doing it.  The dot io market is humans doing their own buying.  And nobody is forcing them to do so.   Here are today’s names.

HaveMore.com   I think everyone wants more of something.  My favorite name on the list today.  Of course its the first and only name I’ve listed so far so it’s a pretty easy choice.

LVWedding.com  17 years old.  Las Vegas Wedding.  No bidders and if it goes for $12 it will be a steal

GameExperts.com  16 years old.  One bidder.  Perfect name for a video game video site

IWasArrested.com   No bidders.  Pretty good legal name

Harmonizing.com Can be used for much more than a bunch of people singing together

MasterOfNothing.com  Fun name, 14 years old.  No bidders.  Would make a great blog or email

Favoring.com  Not sure how it would be used but its 12 years old and under $25 at press time

Yatz.com   Nice short pronounceable LLLL.com  Higher value than ever

Lipping.com  No bidders at $12.  I just thought it was worth a flyer for the price. Of course I’m not taking the flyer so call me a hypocrite.  But as I type this I decided to make the first bid.

HHDM.com  Something something Delicious Mango

DoItByHand.com    And you’ll have to if you live in a condo with your cat and made up your own nickname.

ChefMommy.com Fantastic blog name.  No bidders

61380.com  Yet another 5N.com that crosses $1K

31179.com  Trailing the above but still has fans

15.biz   Got a $500 bid and based on past results of some NN.biz sales it’s actually a fair to good deal

NEW GODADDY COUPON CODE: $1.99 New Registration Godaddy hitched149

Munchies.com  Product name or a site about them

KXX.com  Already hit a very nice price

HCMF.com   Nice to see a LLLL.com getting a decent price on Flippa.  Usually GD or Namejet is the only place you get a decent price

RJ.net  This one is getting close to hitting reserve

Weed.To   Surprised how high this one has gotten.  Get it?  High

SEDO’s Live Auctions Going on Now

LuckyShop.com  I think the Asian community would love this.  They are very in to luck.  Then again, everyone likes to be lucky

ATLB.com  I love the B side of Atlanta. 19 years old

AllInclusiveTravel.com   A multi billion dollar industry.  I like it because the ice cream is all you can eat every night

Printin.com  Ghetto printing

DreamWeddingDay.com  The goal of every bride

PlanoHomes.com  Plano Texas is full of rich, white people.  And they use the Internet a lot

SecretSpots.com  They won’t be once you publish them

LifesLuxuries.com   Reminds me of VAT19.   Marketing to try and convince people they need things they really don’t

AMinus.com   I would have been happy with this

Q1234.com  If you want memorable this would do it

5346.com   You should buy this

Seattle.tv   Michael Cyger should want this one

MintBet.com  3 bidders think that this would make a good gambling domain

GiveLife.org    Hopefully someone will use this for an organ donation site.  Hoping it will make it into the right hands

    I’m on Bainbridge Island. 🙂

Plus, the owner offered it to me in the past but it was too high. We’ll see if the reserve is just as high.
