DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Wednesday 9/10

Sep 10 2014

I was like everyone else and was watching the Apple product show closely. I am an early adopter, I’m not scared to say so.  But I’ve been that way since 1986 and have a lot of money because of it.  I buy stock in things I believe in.  When I stand in long lines at Chipotle every day.  I don’t bitch and complain, I buy 10K in stock and watch it grow 7 fold and smile now when I stand in line. So while others are looking for information on how it relates to domains I could care less because there is very little money to be made on Apple domains. The money to be made is seeing what other companies will be effected.  I saw Square, who is already bleeding money, and Garmin shedding tears. When I saw that Saphire glass wasn’t on the phone it was an easy short on the company that had seen its stock go crazy on the rumors they were going to make all the glass for the new iPhones (GTAT, they did get some glass in the watches so I’m a buyer again at 13).   There are all kinds of competitors and and component makers that were going to be effected with the new products and great money to be made if you acted fast.  Don’t get me wrong, I love domain names,  but there is a lot of money to be made in a lot of places.  Domains are just one.  Here are today’s names. 1997 Birthday.   We all use them.  Or maybe our spouses.  Ok, at least the restaurants use them.  Getting some love at auction  With the affiliate money in hosting this one could be a good buy.  Only one bidder at $12  I am constantly amazed how well these names do.  They never fail to sell and they always seem to be over a few hundred dollars.  In short, buying CCC.coms hasn’t been wrong so far  And another.   Again, over $200…..or close   No need to say much here.  Under $3500 at press time meaning it still has $1500 or so to run  No bidders.  Don’t say can’t.  Say “I don’t want it bad enough”  Short and memorable.  From reading the above it sounds like you have to get cigarettes and an English teacher.  “HAVE to get”  I remember this from being a kid.  HIV put the blood buddies in a downward trend.  One bidder  Someone will buy this   Good looking and short.  Just like Elliot  10 years old.  Good name for a home or online security.  Seller does a great job of listing recent past tense verb sales. Makes you realize the current price is a little low  Ironically a great name for a website marketplace is for sale at Flippa

Working Godaddy Domain Code of the day. 25% off new items added to cart. Great for new gTLDs bb2017a  1996 Birthday.   Typical 30 bids for a middle to good   I like but like NNL.coms better  Like this one. I am going to try and sell it one more time.  Lowered the reserve and if it doesn’t sell it goes back in the closet with my old fraternity T-shirts People, places, and things.  13 bidders care about this name  Northern state businesses need these services 4 months a year   3 and a half million Google results and yet no bidders.  I think it makes a good brand.  Especially for $69  Not one single bid and no reserve  The top bid getter at Namejet today  Not sure how to monetize this one but evidently a few people have an idea  Memorable enough to build a brand on IMO.  And short so you know it will sell for over $250  Quite a few people are looking for it.  Unfortunately they don’t want to work for it.  Would rather try and get it with a scratch off

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. *All names chosen by me, Shane, and the goal of this list is to have all links be paid through commission . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct
