Flippa Recap: OAR.com, AZU.com, M.ag, Shares.info, Mortgages.info, A.domains

Jul 21 2014

Another week of solid 4 and 5-figure domain sales at Flippa.

Some domains that sold

Oar.com – $28,500 – Ouch……someone lost some bucks……sold in January 2013 on Flippa for $69,000. The interesting/odd thing is that there were 5 bidders at/above $50k a year ago.

AZU.com – $18,000 – This one actually sold the prior week, but I had missed it because it was negotiated post-auction. Bidding reached $15,300 during the auction.

Mortgages.info – $14,095 – Flippa has now sold both the plural and singular, which was moved last year for $18,900. At those prices, which would you prefer……”s” or no “s”?

M.ag – $8,550

Shares.info – $6,350

Viral.io – $4,995

DomainsBox.com and 500+ more domains – $3,050

Dean.info – $2,000 – Bidding got up to only $505 and didn’t hit reserve, then was negotiated post-auction.

BankruptcyDebt.com – $1,001

FlyToVegas.com – $800 – Bidding got up to $650 and didn’t hit reserve, then was negotiated post-auction.

One would think OAR.com would fetch a lot more. Probably wrong platform for it. Owner probably wanted to raise funds and just decided to move on. But, its interesting to see that lack of liquidity on names and that it really comes down to timing like all assets.

It wasn’t a platform issue — it had also been shopped on newsletters and on NameJet. The guy just overpaid when he bought it a year ago, in my opinion. Didn’t overpay for an end user, but overpaid for wholesale domainer-to-domainer pricing.
