SHANE’S BIG LIST: Wednesday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on February 5th, 2014

Feb 05 2014

Escrow.com

I was telling a friend that’s a broker yesterday that I think that the economy is going to take a big hit here in the US because of the weather. Other than supplies, purchasing is WAAAAAYYY down.  Weather effects mood and the weather in the Midwest, East Coast, and even the South has been miserable.  I think you can take away 3-4% of sales merely on winter weather alone for some retailers.  Again, just my guess but the market tends to be 4 months ahead and it’s already starting to cook in those results.  Fortunately my retail is closed during the winter and I should be able to capture that pent up demand.  I know sales will rebound, it’s a weather thing not an economic. Although those record heating bills and the money to pay them isn’t coming back.  That extra 50% would have gone to another business.  Here are today’s names. And Remember if you’d like to list a name in Friday’s Book of 10 Domain Names for Sale shoot me an email

6887.com  One of the better NNNN.coms I’ve seen lately.  I may have owned this in the past.  I know I had one with double 8s in the middle. Sold it for 3K back then.  I’d pay 5K for it now but I don’t think that will do it

Furniture4Less.com  I had no idea how lucrative the cheap furniture buy/rent business was until I met an owner at a party one night.  This is the type of domains they use all the time.  Gets a little traffic already.  1997 registration

AuctionLeague.com  Another business model is the fantasy sports head to head betting.  Since its considered skill it’s allowed and people are spending hundreds of millions playing it.  This is a great name for this type of thing. 15 years old

Printer3d.net These 3d printer names have been going for crazy prices. 3dPrinter.net went for $60K. Flip the words around and save a little

BattleTested.com  Sounds like it would be pretty tough.  14 years old

Workouts.org  Fitness is not ideal for the dot org but for under $50 not a bad deal IMO.  13 years old

Injured.biz   Never bought a biz but this legal name would not be a bad start.  Especially if your in the injury lawsuit bizness

TheseGames.com  I like this one for $12.  Memorable game name

HealthyRestaurants.com   I have to admit it would be nice to have a list of healthy restaurants in the area or at least a list of the healthiest things on the menu

HistoryReport.com  Thought this was a good value under $100.  Historical information is always being searched for and obvious use here

MarijuanaEverything.com  Pretty much covers it.  If it can have marijuana in it, you have it.  Pretty sure $125 takes it

Worthless Random Fact: Lou Fender, the founder of Fender Guitar never learned to play the guitar.

Thebe.com  One of Jupiter’s moons and a female mentioned in Greek mythology.  All which makes it a nice brand.  16 years old

Portlandxxx.com Portland has more stripclubs than any city in the US.  And there’s your value.  On a side note they also have Vegan Strip Clubs.  Girls are all Vegans.

3213.com  Great numbers.  Going to do well

FootMistress.com  I’m not in to the whole foot fetish thing but hundreds of thousands of people are.  Look at the Google results for this one.  14 years old

TheSample.com   I know people visit Sam’s Club all day for free samples so I’m pretty sure a sample site would do well

OAIA.com  Everyone loves vowels.  No still no Ys in the vowels. Quit asking

BlueberryFarm.com  Auction ending today.  Fresh blueberries seem like such a distant thought with this weather

Weslake.com  A lot of subdivisions and things named this.  We have one in our town. Gets called West Lake a  lot

Hello, as you said “3D Printer” names are going crazy (.com) at the moment, and why not! – But certainly not ” Printer 3D” and as a .net, who ever transacts into this, will be buying a third class domain in my opinion. It’s a fracture.

    Howie,

Which should make the final sales price even more interesting. I learned long ago it’s not what we like it’s what someone else is willing to pay. The market will dictate its worth.
