THE BIG AFTERMARKET LIST: Monday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on April 28th, 2014

Apr 28 2014

I’m sure many of you have had the same thing.  It happens all the time.  You sell a domain name to an enduser and a few days later they email asking tech questions like “how do I get my website on it?” or “Why doesn’t my website show up?”.  Yesterday I sold a name back to someone that had let it expire. I bought it at auction.  A few days after the sale I get an email asking for help. He didn’t know why his website wouldn’t show up.  I simply went to DomainTools and looked at the DNS history and showed them how to change it back to where it was.  Probably not worth my time since I didn’t make anything but I felt like I was really helping someone.  And helping someone pays off later in some way.  Always.  Here are today’s names. Book of 10 is taking names.  $25 a name.  Between the post and their newsletter (and our little site) 18,000 domain investors will be reached.  Domain Name something something  Perfect mail order bride site. 12 years old  I guess game tips would be better but still a nice name. 15 years old.  Under $250 is a good buy IMO  This auction is crazy high.  Be interested to see who buys this if the auction goes through.  I didn’t even know how to spell it  Another crazy high one.  These are the kind of names that bring out the “I don’t believe this is legit” comments  The 876 is easy to remember so imagine this is the driver   This one should do well also with the beginning 8  A big seller when it gets cold.  Buying now gives you time to set up shop.  Lots of results and ads  If you’re into hacks this is an item most of use all the time.  Great brand potential as well

NEW!!!! Working Godaddy Domain Code of the day.. $.99 cent new registration Dot Com com99  23 years old.  So many uses, so many zeros  All the rage in the late 70s and 80s. 15 year old  9 out of 10 on the Domain Shane scale  Great domain blog name or site for companies to upgrade their domains. 15 years old  Not very man bidders on this  And there are millions going through a day.  Not to my phone.  Other people’s  These are the types of names I don’t mind owning the dot co.  A lot can happen in 5 seconds

Have a name at auction and need more exposure. Send me an email. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.   *All names chosen by me, Shane, and the goal of this list is to have all links be paid through commission . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct.

10 days ago when I first started tracking the name shot up to 25k within first 48 hours. Then, when the auction was 4 days out, the price dropped down to $500(+) range with the exact same bidders just different amounts. Then, a few days ago back up to where the price is currently– although, interestingly, off the high water mark.

Guess what it’s back….. is back and it’s at a little over $1000, things sure smell fishy around here.

I put an email into Paul Nicks at Godaddy. Rather than speculate and accuse I just emailed him directly. We’ll see what he says
