THE BIG AFTERMARKET LIST: Saturday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on May 10th, 2014

Mark had a great writeup about his history with domain investing.  It’s always interesting to see how people got in this industry and what they’re doing in today’s markets.  He’s done and is doing a great job and most importantly, is making a living.  That’s more than 99% of the people in this industry.  For me.  I’ve always felt there is no better way to make money than to build a business. I feel more comfortable selling things to help people do something than actually doing that something.  While I giddy over the amount of money I make a year domain investing, I can make more money in one day at the nurseries and garden centers than I do all year in domain investing.  But I do this because I enjoy it and the money I earn goes to the fun things in life.  There is zero stress (although getting kicked out of DBR was unnerving) and it gives me the opportunity to do some things I may not otherwise had a chance to do.  I also realize because I don’t have to live on domain money that I am able to reinvest and take some chances that I wouldn’t if I had bills to pay. My goals are simple.  Make at least $50K a year in profits in domain investing.  Buy at least $35K worth of new names every year above what I sold. To ONLY spend money that I’ve made in domaining.  A complete reinvestment strategy. No outside money. It’s pennies for some in the industry, a goal for others. I’ve reached my goal three years in a row and therefore I’m completely satisfied.  I will continue to concentrate on the nursery as there are millions a year to be made.  And I will continue to buy and sell domains, because there is a lot of “extra” millions to be made and I might as well be the one to make them.

SmokeThis.com  Pretty awesome pot name.  18 years old.

SoilScience.com  Not the sexiest name on the board but it’s a real department and most Universities.  Especially farming schools

HomeLocal.com   Two buzzwords in one domain and they basically mean the same thing.  No bidders, 15 years old

EgoBoost.com  A friends name. It’s a good name, hope he finally sells it because he sure deserves it.  See what I did there? I gave him an ego boost

DATW.com   Solid letters and the W for Worldwide seems to always do well.

TAGO.com  Big boy CVCV.  Should easily cross $5K

5115.cc  The Chinese do buy dot cc numerics and this one is one of the best

65368.com  No fours, ends in an 8. Looks good to me

ENHN.com  I would think this is more of a $250 name at auction

NEW!!!! Working Godaddy Domain Code of the day.. $2.95 cent new registration Dot Com hard295

Ordinances.com  Gonna need a big website to list all the world’s ordinances

HolidayGreeting.com  Merry Christmas

Shopz.com  It’s been the same for 10 years.  Z makes it cool

Judio.com  Means Jewish in Spanish

LIJO.com  Not nearly as many bidders as I though it would get

Have a name at auction and need more exposure?  Send me an email. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.   *All names chosen by me, Shane, and the goal of this list is to have all links be paid through commission . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct.

What is really priceless is doing something you enjoy and spending quality time with your family, and I have a feeling you are doing both of those things, that is the true measure of success imho…
